What's New
Planning has been rebuilt to make your data faster to access and easier to analyze. Use the results of tens of thousands of wildfire simulations across your territory, together with asset risk modeled at 100 m resolution, to inform decisions across your organization. The new Planning application is now generally available, with richer comparisons, clearer asset-level risk visualization, and more control over how you analyze and share wildfire risk.
-
Improved User Experience: Find the data you need to make decisions more quickly. Consolidated metrics menus list and categorize every metric, with descriptions that explain how to interpret each one. Filter toggles provide access to every model run combination available to you, and a consistent interface across Technosylva products makes each product easier to navigate.
-
Compare Years and Scenarios: Compare risk metrics for up to two data years side by side in the Asset Table, and switch between years on the Map. Where your organization’s data supports it, compare fuel scenarios and simulation durations to see how different conditions affect results.
-
Monetary Consequence Metrics: View monetary consequence metrics on the Map and in the Asset Table, including total cost, structure replacement, fire suppression, restoration, and evacuation costs. Select from available percentiles to assess potential impacts and inform mitigation priorities. Available for organizations and data runs that include monetary consequence data.
-
Risk Displayed on Assets: Risk colors now display directly on utility assets, so you no longer need to compare separate asset and hexagon layers. This makes it easier to see where risk changes along a line and to identify areas for closer review.
-
Map-to-Table Synchronization: Turn on map-to-table synchronization to limit the Asset Table to assets in the current Map view. Turn it off to compare those assets with your organization’s full asset portfolio, so you can assess local priorities in context.
-
Custom Map Layers: Add custom map layers from geospatial files or ArcGIS services to view your organization’s data alongside wildfire risk. Custom layers persist across sessions and can be removed at any time. You can now see geospatial Risk Associated with Value Exposure (RAVE) data.
-
Customizable Map Styling: Customize map color palettes, thresholds, labels, and opacity to highlight the risk ranges most relevant to your analysis. Save your styling preferences for future sessions, or reset them to the defaults.
-
CSV Export: Export selected table data to CSV for reporting, sharing, or further analysis. Exports include all table results, not only the page currently displayed.
-
Third-Party Vegetation Management Metrics: View vegetation management metrics, such as grow-in and fall-in risk along spans, directly in Planning. Use these metrics alongside wildfire risk to prioritize vegetation management work. Available to customers with the Vegetation Management Integration.
Interface Overview
This section provides an overview of Planning's interface and key components. Familiarizing yourself with these tools and panels will help you navigate efficiently and access the features you need. Each subsection below describes a major component of the interface, including where to find it and what it's used for.
