Canadian Forest Fire Danger Rating System (CFFDRS)

The Canadian Forest Fire Danger Rating System (CFFDRS) is a set of tools used to assess the risk of wildland fires by evaluating factors like ignition ease, spread rate, and control difficulty. It includes both Fire Weather Index (FWI), which rates weather-related fire danger, and Fire Behavior Prediction (FBP), which predicts a fire's behavior and is more accurate when fuel type is considered. The system rates fire danger on a scale from Low to Extreme, with each level having specific descriptions of fire behavior and containment challenges. For more information, see Canadian Forest Fire Danger Rating System (CFFDRS).
