Getting an Account
Access to Tactical Analyst (TA) requires a Wildfire Analyst (WFA) Portal account through your agency. If you do not have an account, contact your agency representative.
Accessing the Application
Installing TA Web as a Progressive Web App
TA’s progressive web app can be “installed” giving the user a more native experience with the application. By “installing” the application the user can add Tactical Analyst to their computer’s app drawer and open the application in its own dedicated window without having to open the chrome web browser or tabs.
Installing TA Web is optional. Using the application in a normal web browser will not change or impact the application’s functionality. Installing the application allows for quicker access and a way to work with the application in its own dedicated window.
To install Tactical Analyst follow the steps below:

On your computer, open Chrome.

Navigate to TA Web using the URL for your agency.

In the top right of the address bar, click the three vertical dots (⋮) to open the menu.

Open the Cast, save, and share menu.

Click Install page as app.
-
Rename the app if desired and click Install.
Installing TA Mobile
TA Mobile can be downloaded on Apple and Android devices.
Apple (iOS) Devices

Open the App Store.
-
Tap on your “Profile” icon.

Tap Redeem Gift Card or Code.

Tap Enter Code.
-
Enter the token you were provided.

Tap Redeem.
Android Devices

Open the Google Play Store app
-
Search for “Tactical Analyst”

Tap “Tactical Analyst [YOUR AGENCY]”

Tap Install
Multiple versions of the application are available for different agencies. Double check that you are downloading the correct agency version of Tactical Analyst.
Sideloading an .apk File to Install TA Mobile on Android
An .apk file is a file type that can be used to install applications on mobile devices.

Connect the mobile device to the computer via USB.

Make sure the mobile device is visible in the Table of Contents in File Explorer. The mobile device USB setting must be set to allow File Transfer.

Download the .apk you were provided to the computer(your Downloads folder or other known location).

Locate the downloaded .apk using File Explorer.

Right-click on the .apk file and select Copy.

In the File Explorer find the mobile device name in the Table of Contents and click to access the mobile device.

Double-click to open Internal Shared Storage.

Right-click and Paste the .apk onto mobile device in the File Explorer.

Switch to the mobile device and on the mobile device open Settings.

Tap to open Storage.

In the Storage list tap Files.
-
Find the .apk in the Files list and tap on the .apk.

Tap Continue.

Tap Install.
Logging In
Logging In to TA Web
Access to TA Web is provided through the WFA Portal. If you do not know how to access the WFA Portal, contact your agency representative.
Enter the Username and Password for your account and click Login.
Once you have logged into the WFA Portal, you will be taken to the Applications screen.
Click on Tactical Analyst to open the application.
Logging In to TA Mobile

Open the TA Mobile application on your device.

On the Sign In screen, use the dropdown field to select the preferred environment.

Production(PRO): Real operational use. Use in normal field operations.

Training(TRA): Practice, demos, onboarding, and low-risk evaluation.

Staging(STG): Pre-release testing/verification.

Enter your Username and Password and click Sign In.
To use the Biometric Sign In users will need to enter their username and password manually once before they will be able to enable biometrics.
The password for different environments may be the same or different depending on the user.
Login Tokens
Login tokens are valid for 30 days. Users will receive a notification when the deadline for logging in again is approaching. The notification will have two options:

Dismiss will close the notification pop up but users will need to manually log out of the app at a later time.

Logout will automatically bring users to the login page of TA mobile.
Logging in requires network connectivity when the token has expired.
Configure User Preferences
Activate Deep Links in TA Mobile
Android users can configure incident links to automatically open TA Mobile instead of TA Web, but this must be activated in the device settings.

Open the device’s Settings.

Select Apps -> Tactical Analyst.

Click Set as Default.
-
Set Supported web addresses.
-
Toggle on all links.
If clicking a link yields a message in TA Mobile that the incident is not found, Perform a Sync All of the app and try again.
Managing Accounts
Edit Your Profile

Go to the WFA Portal or TA.

Click on the user profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Click My Profile in the pop up card.

Click Edit Profile if you would like to make changes.

Make any necessary changes and click Save to apply.
The color and icon for your user profile icon may vary depending on your assigned role.
Depending on the changes made, you may be required to login again.
Reset Your Password

Navigate to the WFA Portal.

Click Login.
-
Click Forgot Password?
-
Enter the email associated with your WFA account and click Send Email.

You will receive and email with a link to create a new password. Click Set New Password in the email and follow the instructions.
