Outage Operations: Restore Module (July 2026)
The Restore tier is now live inside the Outage Operations application, delivered through the new Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR) charts in the graph panel. Restore converts the forecasted outage count and damage mix into the crew and full-time equivalent (FTE) headcount needed to hit a chosen restoration timeline.
It is the third additive tier of the Outage Prediction Model (OPM) (Predict → Predict + → Restore) and builds on the Damages output.
What's New

ETR charts in the app. Restore is delivered as interactive ETR charts. Reach them from the graph panel via the Company-Wide Crew estimation tab, next to Daily Outages by Damage Theme.

Two estimation views:
-
Total Event: Total resources required to restore the entire forecasted event, plotted across a range of target restoration windows (24h through 240h / 10 days).

Daily Crew: The day-by-day crew and FTE requirement across the 5-day forecast for a fixed restoration target.

Crew-type breakdown: Estimates are split into First Responder, Big Crews, and Vegetation Crews, with a combined Total FTE.

Scenario selector: Choose the forecast confidence level (e.g. Medium-high / P90) so resourcing can be planned against a conservative or expected outage count.

Restoration-window selector: In Daily Crew view, set the restoration target (e.g. 12h) that the daily estimate is sized against.

Shared forecast lineage: Restore uses the same forecast and scenario as the outage and damage views, so resourcing traces directly back to the predicted event and refreshes on the OPM's 4×/day cadence.
Benefits

Turns a forecast into a staffing plan: Answers the operational question directly (how many crews, of what type, and for how long) instead of leaving planners to translate an outage count into headcount by hand.

Makes the time-vs-resources tradeoff explicit: The Total Event view shows exactly how headcount rises as the target restoration window shortens, supporting mutual-aid, contractor, and pre-staging decisions before an event arrives.

Crew-type granularity supports realistic mobilization: Separating first responders, big (line) crews, and vegetation crews reflects how utilities actually mobilize, rather than a single blended number.

Plan to a chosen confidence level: The percentile selector lets teams size to an expected outcome or a conservative one (e.g. P90) depending on risk tolerance and event severity.

Daily staffing profile: The Daily Crew view surfaces the mobilization ramp and peak-day demand across the 5-day forecast, useful for scheduling and shift planning.

Self-serve, no report turnaround: The estimates are available on demand in the app and update with each forecast run (no separate report request or wait).
Instructions

Open the Outage Operations view for the customer.

In the graph panel, select the Company-Wide Crew estimation tab (the ETR views sit beside Daily Outages by Damage Theme).

Set the scenario. Choose a percentile from the scenario dropdown (e.g. Medium-high / P90). This sets the outage-forecast confidence level the estimate is built on.

Choose a view using the Total Event / Daily Crew toggle:

Total Event: Read Total FTE headcount against the target restoration windows on the x-axis (24 / 48 / 72 / 120 / 240 h). The stacked series show the First Responder / Big Crew / Vegetation Crew split; the dashed line is Total FTE.

Daily Crew: Set a Restoration target from the dropdown (e.g. 12h), then read the daily crew count (left axis, stacked by crew type) and Estimated FTE (right axis) across the 5-day forecast dates.

Test tradeoffs: Adjust the scenario or restoration window to compare resourcing under different assumptions.
Notes & Dependencies

Tier dependency: Restore requires the Predict + tier; the resource estimate is built from the forecasted outage count and its damage mix.

Data quality: As with Damages, output granularity and accuracy depend on the quality and detail of the customer's historical outage records used to train the model.

ETR: here refers to the target restoration window the resource estimate is sized to meet (e.g. "12h ETR" = resources needed to restore within 12 hours).
Operations Version 2.2.10 (July 2026)
This release adds crew and ETR estimation charts for Extreme Weather Outages, a Full Extent map button, FireSim incident-preselection fixes, and a range of dashboard and time-control improvements.
Map & Layers

Identify popup results follow draw order: Map identify-popup results are now listed in layer draw order, topmost first, rather than an arbitrary order.

"Full Extent" map button: A new toolbar button resets the map to the user's configured initial extent, or falls back to the first available asset layer's extent if none is configured.

Weather-service proxy: A proxy has been added to prevent CORS errors when querying the WFAS weather service.
Extreme Weather Outages

Crew / ETR estimation charts: New charts estimate the crew count and FTE hours needed to meet a given restoration target, shown for the full event and broken down by day, backed by live data and consolidated into a single card.

Forecast evolution table redesigned: The heatmap view in the outage forecast evolution panel has been replaced with a sticky-header table, keeping axis labels visible while scrolling in both the data and empty states.

Dead fuel moisture chart capped at 50%: The DFM chart's Y axis is capped at 50%, the operationally relevant range below the moisture-of-extinction threshold, providing greater visual resolution where it matters most.
FireSim

Incident preselection fixed when launching from the map: Starting a simulation from an incident popup now correctly preselects the incident type and associated data. Previously, a mismatched data shape caused the submission to fail.

Constant weather option always available: The "constant weather" input is now available to all users when creating simulations.
Dashboards, Summary, & Time Control

Simulations table column order persisted: Column order in the simulations table is now saved per user and restored on reload, consistent with the behavior of other tables in the application.

Criteria Dashboard basemap fixes: Corrects basemap reactivity and centering issues, and resolves a bug where opening the basemap selector did not actually change the active basemap layer.

Out-of-range time control step removed: The time control no longer includes a final step that fell beyond the last forecast day. Legacy percentile layers that were producing errors in production have also been removed.

"Filter" to "Criteria" terminology updated: Remaining references to "Saved Filter" in empty-state and summary text (English and Spanish) have been updated to reflect the renamed "Criteria" feature.

Metric selector unified with layer list: The metric selector has been migrated to the shared layer-item component, aligning its behavior with the rest of the layer list.
Operations Version 2.2.6 (July 2026)
This release adds table and map usability improvements, refines simulation and basemap navigation, and expands radar and forecast-chart capabilities.

The basemap selector now opens on click and closes only via an explicit close button.

The back button in the simulation results panel now returns to the simulation list instead of browser history.
